What is ambiance?
Ambiance is how the room sits in that moment. Painting the wall with a low, warm light moves it toward sunset. Leaving the room green and dim recalls the quiet of a forest. It is the same room. The light changes.

Is it the same as ambient lighting?
In English, ambient lighting is the general light that lets you walk the room. The Illuminating Engineering Society defines it that way. A ceiling, a cove or light spread on a wall does that job.
In everyday Turkish, ambiance usually names how that light sits in that moment. The question is not whether the room has light. It is how the room sits right now. The names of the layers are in light in a room is not a single layer.
Ambiance is not dimming the ceiling. It is how the room sits right now.
How does a place outside sit inside?
The sun may be setting outside while the ceiling inside still looks like noon. When you paint the wall with a low, warm light, the salon looks like evening. That is not a copy of a sunset. It is a closer match to that minute of the day.
Green, dim light does not turn the room into a forest. It still gives the same quiet: darker, slower, less sharp. The furniture stays. What changes is the colour, the amount and where the light is aimed.
Do you build this from scratch every night?
No. You set a light once, then you switch to it. Colour, brightness and movement sit together.
When the music is on, that light may also want movement. It follows the sound in the room.
Why is one setting not enough?
Because the room does not do one job. Reading, talking and pulling the room into evening sit apart. One general light shows the room. It does not change the room.
There is no cap on how many ready lights you keep. You keep as many as the room asks for.
